Lindsey began studying belly dance in 2007 with Jamileh as a birthday gift to herself. Feeling both entranced and challenged by the art form, she applied discipline and consistency to her development and training, and a short 6 months later, auditioned for and became a member of Naya’s Trance. Lindsey has a restlessness and inquisitiveness that result in a longing for growth and artistic experimentation. In a search for new choreography ideas, she stumbled upon what she now knows as Tribal Fusion Belly Dance, and her development and style of dancing have not been the same since. The body control, grace, and centeredness she witnessed, specifically in Rachel Brice, was something she longed to have and still is striving for. She continues to be inspired by other fusion greats like Kami Liddle, Zoe Jakes, and more recently by Maine local, Aonochi of Paradigm East.
Lindsey uses the dance for connection, meditation, and expression of all aspects of her deepest self, her transient feelings, and her personality. Whether spiritual, sensual, flirtatious, or coarse, she wants to bring full authenticity to her artful expression and teaching. Lindsey has also studied the ancient Japanese healing art, Reiki, earning her Master/Teacher C ertification and has an avid interest in astrology and numerology and the way both can assist in unlocking secrets of the soul.
