It was a dark and autumn-leaf-swept evening when an young lady walked into a studio in Longfellow Square…in the subtly lit room mysterious and exotic music played quietly; women were milling about, murmuring in conversation, their hips wrapped with scarves from which coins gently tinked…a slight and gorgeous creature emerged, calling all to the floor to begin a slow and uplifting full body warm up…from these moments, MaraNajla was born.

Not previously a dancer or performer, she feels she has found her calling in bellydance.  She is blessed to have studied with local goddesses Jamileh, Jessani, Adira, Marianna and Aepril Schaile and looks forward always to continuing her studies.  Upon hearing Middle Eastern music, from the classics to modern pop and club, she is compelled to dance and wishes to share her joy and adoration for this dance form with all with her fun, open and friendly style.
